ZAKK WYLDE Performs National Anthem At Madison Square Garden

October 27, 2005

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY/OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist Zakk Wylde played the national anthem as an electric guitar solo, a la Jimi Hendrix, before The New York Rangers' game against the New York Islanders at Madison Square Garden in New York on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005.

Wylde had previously performed the national anthem on October 6 at the Los Angeles Staples center prior to the Los Angeles Kings' home opener against the Phoenix Coyotes (check out photos from Getty Images).

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY have just released a double-disc compilation, entitled "Kings of Damnation - Era '98-'04", through Spitfire Records. The collection is a look at the evolution of Zakk Wylde's progression as a musician, beginning from his solo venture with PRIDE & GLORY and BOOK OF SHADOWS, leading up to his final album for Spitfire, "Hangover Music Volume VI". Disc 2 features unique takes on a number of well-known songs, including PROCOL HARUM's "Whiter Shade of Pale", THE BEATLES' "Come Together", and NEIL YOUNG's "Heart of Gold". The complete details can be found at this location.
